I got a chance to work with two teams this year for TO Jam: Team Awesome and Andrij Pilkiw. Hopefully the work with Andrij will be available later this year, and I’m really looking forward to revealing that.
This here is the title screen for Team Awesome. I got a chance to work on all the art assets (background tiles, sprites, enemies, items,...

My Digital Arts tutorial image: Digital Arts Tutorial Image
Today’s Friday free sketch is actually in Digital Arts Magazine, available on newsstands now! It also comes with a tutorial, penned by Yours Truly. Please remember though, I ain’t no wordsmith. If you have troubles with the tutorial, it’s probably because it’s worded poorly. Just contact me and let me know if you have problems or...

Brilliant motion comic tells the story of a man... →
This is an old link (January 20, 2013), but it’s a brilliant use of motion and comics.
Today’s Madefire/Deviantart announcement made me want to seek out good examples of storytelling that utilize time and don’t necessarily compromise on comic narrative. It’s pretty difficult; comics are already a bastard middle ground between text, image, gaming, film and television...

Digital Arts Magazine
Wow! A small sampling of my work is featured in Digital Arts’ “Showcase” section this month (cover date March 2013). It’s even got a nifty shot of my studio!
Anyways, Digital Arts is available on newsstands and in finer retail shops everywhere. Go check it out while you can!

Randy “Macho Man” Savage
When Randy Savage passed away, I did a drawing as a way to remember him. And that’d be fine, except that it sucked. I’m much happier with this, and I think it honors his memory better. Randy Savage was a bombastic character, and I’d like the images to reflect that. RIP, man.
Also, in a weird stroke of coincidence, it’s my birthday today! Wotta world.

PSY
As much as I hate to admit it, I really like PSY. The link above doesn’t go to Gangnam Style, because you and everyone and the world has already seen it a zillion times over. It does go to his Korea video which I really like. I’ll probably play it again around World Cup time.
Anyways, Happy New Year, everyone!

The Ramones
I like the Ramones. Particularly “Bonzo Goes To Bitburg”, their cover of “Journey to the Center of your Mind” and let’s face it basically everything.
We are a product of our limitations, and that’s what gives us our style.
